Problem: The City wanted to create mitigation wetlands in Clark Lake Park, as well as improve the outlet stream to the lake in an effort to bring coho salmon back to the area.
Approach: NSD stored all soil on-site and restructured the land throughout the project in order to keep project costs to a minimum. We also improved an existing storm water retention pond on-site.
Solution: NSD built a natural storm water retention facility, a 16,000sf mitigation wetland, and rehabilitated 1,200 sf of stream by adding large woody debris and realigning the channel.
Result: The area is now a true amenity to Clark Lake Park that continues to provide outdoor recreation to the citizens of Kent.
